Pop Warner Teams Kick off Season!

Pop Warner Little Panthers, Charlotte's oldest youth football organization, kicked off its 57th season this past Saturday. More than 90 teams in and around Charlotte played their first regular season games of the 2015 season.

Pop Warner Little Panthers has 13 different Associations from Lake Norman up North to Weddington down South. Kids from ages 5-13 years old participate in football and cheer. Football teams compete in five divisions, each dictated by age-weight scale.

  • Pop Warner is the only national youth sports organization that requires participants to meet academic standards.
  • Most teams play between 8 to 10 regular season games with the Charlotte City Champions moving on to the regional playoffs in Raleigh, NC. From there they can compete in the National Championship / Super Bowl at Walt Disney World’s ESPN Wide World of Sports in December.

“This is always an exciting time of year for everyone involved in Pop Warner Little Panthers football. At Pop Warner, we are committed to making it possible for young people to enjoy football in a fun, structured and nurturing environment.” Don't mistake our commitment to Academics and our nurturing environment as a prop for so so football. Did you know that more than 70% of the current NFL players played in a Pop Warner league? That's more than all of the other Leagues combined! If you want your son to learn football the right way and to learn it in an environment that is the best in the country, Pop Warner is the League for your family!
