Conferences for 2006

CONFERENCES AND DIVISIONS 

As in the past, associations/teams in the Little Panthers’ League will play in either the Regional Conference (previously Division I) or the Non-Regional Conference (previously Division III).  Associations/teams choose by August 1st to compete in either the Regional or Non-Regional Conferences.

Teams in the Regional Conference play for the right to represent the league in the Mid-South Regional Playoffs and the opportunity to advance to the Pop Warner Super Bowl at Disney World.    There will be one division of play in the Regional Conference for the Mitey-Mites, Jr. PeeWees, PeeWees, and Midgets.  There will be two divisions of play in the Regional Conference for the Jr. Midgets.

Teams in the Non-Regional Conference compete for the Optimist Bowl championship, but do not advance to regional competition. 

In order to place teams in geographical proximity, the teams in the Non-Regional Conference are grouped into Northern and Southern Conferences.  In the Northern Conference there are two divisions for Mitey-Mites and Jr. PeeWees and one division for PeeWees.  In the Southern Conference, there are three divisions for Mitey-Mites and Jr. PeeWees and two divisions for PeeWees. 

Mitey-Mite teams do not play for a league championship, but will be scheduled for games on the eighth Saturday, October 28th.

Games will be played between teams in the same division with a few exceptions.

  1. If two teams have a bye, these teams will be scheduled to play each other in a non-conference game

  2. In conferences with six teams, beginning with the sixth week, teams will play teams from another conference in non-conference games.

The league attempted to place no more than two teams from the same association in the same division – an exception is the Northern Division - PEEWEES
